53Hattrup SJ  (1995)  Journal of Shoulder & Elbow Surgery  4.  95-100.  Of 88 patients who had cuff tear surgery 53 were under 65 years old and 35 older. In younger patients 89% had excellent, 19% satisfactory and 3% unsatisfactory outcomes. In older patients 77%, 13% and 9% respectively.  The outcome was not as good in older patients or with bigger tears.
